Carpooling to Reptile Shows.................

duffy May 20, 2004 11:06 AM

My sister just sent me one of those "don't buy gas on such-and-such a date and bring the oil industry to its knees" emails. It seems to me that such a tactic will not work without doing what we all have known for a long time that we must do...DRIVE LESS.
I have always avoided car pooling, but think that with the cost of gas it is time to reconsider. So my suggestion is:
Post the show you are going to, and see who wants to pool with you. Save money, and meet fellow ks herpers. You can mention the county you are in, and the main route you take, and anyone with similar travel plans can hook up with you.
I, for one, plan on attending the All Ohio Show this weekend, and take 23 to 270, starting in Southern Delaware County. I know of at least one regular ks member who probably takes this route, and I bet there are more. Duffy

Good Idea, and one that I've been doing for about 1 year now. I met a few people on line that attend the White Plains show from nearby Mass and my home state of RI. We meet up and carpool to the show. It saves us all driving, saves gas and gives us a chance to meet everyone! (And ogle each others purchases on the ride home...)
