i keep a pair in a 4foot,3foot ,by 2foot cage and they seem to do great,so for just one you could go smaller on the cage,i hope this helps...

I keep mine in a 50 gallon Sterilite and he is not full grown yet. But that is surely more room than he needs right now. I always like the rule of thumb that the tank should be at least half the snake's length. Which means that eventually you may want a tank that is at least 3 feet long. Love those Texas RAts! :D
