how many eggs will a female lay . . .

savigeckolvr May 20, 2004 05:50 PM

from a single breeding? I want some more leos that I can raise myself, but I don't know if I could handle more than 3 more. I have a 20 long with my male Geico, and a 10 gallon with my female in it right now. She is big enough to breed, but I'm not sure I want to. I don't want too many geckos and it seems cruel to throw away any eggs I don't need.

Hey there,

Well, it really depends on the gecko. Usually, if it is the first time that female is been bred can be about 4 or 5 clutches...but i have had females that lay only 1 clutch...and others that lay 10 even the first time that are bred. Then, the second year you breed them, they usually lay more than the first time, around 8-10 or even more...But again, this all depends on the actual gecko.
