exo terra day glo bulbs

cmfiscel May 20, 2004 06:55 PM

i was using a 100 watt zoo-med halogen bulb for the basking side which brought temperatures to about 100 degrees. the light was about 10 inches from the basking surface. i started noticing that my beardie would bask in the most intense area of heat with his front legs off of the log. he wouldn't stay there too long before moving to a less intense area of the log. so.....i went out and purchased an exo terra day glo bulb (75watt) to make things more bearable. does anyone have any feedback as to how these bulbs have worked for you? (life, heat produced etc.) thanks....chris

Watt for Watt they produce less heat and light than the regular ZooMed basking lights. I had a 50w ZooMed that produced more heat and light than a 75w exo-terra. Never used the ZooMed halogen's so i'm not sure. Your best off getting GE halogens from Home Depot which are cheaper and do the same thing.

I use exo terra bulbs and have noticed that they have recently been changed and are now brighter and produce more heat that the old exo terra bulbs I was buying. I hope this helps.
