We use an outside jungle-gym for exercise which allows them to drop the tail into space. That is not possible in their enclosure and for the most part they won't go in the enclosure. We also "rain" on them with the hose while they are exercising which gets a response 99% of the time. With our emeralds we use a three meals and bowel movement rule. Most arboreals will freak out if soaked and won't concentrate on the task at hand.

I agree. My lil guy had the same problem. I just let him crawl around on the ground and use a small sprinkler that just kinda "rains" while he's crawling around. If you have a small tree that he can climb through, that will work even better. But get him outside and stretching his muscles and in about 15-20 minutes.... all better (that's how long it took my lil guy). I hope this helps.

Keep us posted!

depending on the size, a small emerald put in a ten gallon tank and fill the tank about 4-6 inches with water around 86 degrees, the water has to be deep enough so that he's not sitting there soaking but actually swimming around and keep a close eye on him the hole time, do it for about 15-20 min. I just had the same problem with one of my basins and it worked like a charm

I want to thank you for your help.I tried the soaking bit but didn't make it deep enough to swim. I thought that might stress him out,I had tried that before I came here for help.I should have came here sooner, then I might not have lost him.I had him for almost a year and he wasn't
even a bad biter.it sucks.But he taught me a lesson,research everything before getting.thanks again.
