Post pics of Enclosures.. even Rack setups( what the inside looks like)

jlui83 May 20, 2004 11:00 PM

I would like to see pics of everyone's Setups.. and if you have your geckos in a RACK SYSTEM or rubbermaid containers.. I would like to see them too.... (the set up of the inside)..

I have seen a LOT of nice geckos.. and ALL seem to be from people who have their geckos in Rubbermaid containers.... I have 3 leos.. for 2 years now.. and it seems like.. 2 females and 1 male.. I keep the male in a rubbermaid container by himself on mealworms.. and he seems fine.. and the girls .. I just put them in a 20 gal long tank.. with rocks, etc.etc.. they dont seem to be eating as much as they did in the rubbermaid.. I feed them mealworms too.. Im debating on putting them back in the rubbermaid so they will eat..

I don't have any pics handy, but I'll share this. I like to display my Geck's, and really enjoyed the idea of 1.2 ratio in a 30G tank. I have had nothing but bad luck with it though. I'll be housing separatly from now on. I may try multiple females, but I've been turned off of mixed sex tanks.

The blue/gray dishes are those for your mealworms? Can they escape from that? I might have to give one of those a try. I am tired of having to constantly fish the mealworms out of the enclosure and back into the dish.

Yes, they are deep enough that mealworms don't get out, but the adult leos can get the worms. I mainly feed crickets and the mealworms are for one or two adults that prefer them to crickets.

I bought them on sale at a pet supply place in Minneapolis. The were in the small dog section.

Regards,

Terry

This is one of the 5 cage set ups I keep my leos in. I am building 2 more sets next week. I use a rack with sterilite tubs for the males. There are 5 groups of 3 females housed in this cage. By the way, that is sand in there...don't bother leaving a comment about it because I have already said my piece on the subject! I have had leos for over 9 years & yes, I have bred them! I have NEVER had any of my animals get impacted.

Also i would like to say i am sorry for the way i acted yesterday and i didnt mean to insult you guys.

It is a 20 gallon long and the reason sand is underneath the tile is because i first had sand in my geckos cage and when i discovered she was eating it i decided to put in tiles. I was also going to buy a rheostat because the uth heater was to hot but instead i kept the sand in and so i could regulate temperatures.
