100 gallon tank price?

stacy680 May 21, 2004 09:50 AM

My turtle needs a bigger home, she's in a 30 gallon right now. I'd like to just get a 100 gallon tank now so I don't have to keep buying tanks. I'm worried about the price though (I'm a poor college student). I live in Massachusetts, and I'm wondering what the average 100 gallon tank price is in the New England area, and where to find a good deal. I'm not against buying something used either.
Thanks!
Stacy

Check your classifieds and garage sals, people get rid of aquariums all the time. Also, if there are any reptile shows in your area they are a good place to get a good deal. In the meantime, you could set up a rubbermaid container for him, they come in very large sizes. They aren't as pretty as an aquarium but they work.

I dont know about your area, but i called every store in my area (kansas city) looking for a 120 or 125 gal. The best price I found was $220 for a 120, the most expensive was about $450 for a 125 gal. My 120 is a High, which is fine with me since I fill it all the way up, and keep fish as well. The average price for a 55 gal is about $100, so I think I did pretty good in getting a 120 gal for $220.
