Been finding alot of the usual snakes recently. Yesterday was a fairly warm day, and I wound up finding many snakes, my most this year so far.
I found not many adult snakes though, most were juveniles from last year or from 2002. Alot of 2003 northern brown snakes, they were under just about everything, only found around 20 shorthead garters which is pretty unusual cause they are usually the most abundant. No live common(eastern)garter snakes in the past week, I did find a few DOR adults though, quite a few DOR northern brown snakes and an adult DOR northern ringneck. Caught a few gravid shorthead garters, I left them there, figured I'd just collect their young sometime in June, same with a few gravid northern browns I found.
Altogether in the past week I probably found around 50 snakes, most shorthead garters and northern brown snakes.
