I have found that form from the coast, all the way into San Bernardio County. I thought that it had to be from the western slopes of the coastal mountains and to the coast in San Diego and Orange County.

Anyway, here is a picture of a recent find I thought had a pretty neat pattern.

I think it may be this Coleonyx variegatus variegatus - Desert Banded Gecko
