I don't know how many people in this forum keep records about their snakes, like how much they eat, when they shed, etc. but I do. So, I am posting my records of my 2 little baby northern ringneck snakes caught in August of 2003, their first meal that I saw was on October 24th, 2003 but from the time they were caught they were housed together in a small critter keeper and I put slugs in with them every week, so they either ate the slugs, or they lived for 2 months without eating and only drinking water. These records are 100% legit and true, and I figured they may be interesting to someone. You just never know these days.
The "female" is the one that was the bigger of the two when I had them both, so I just call it a female. the "male" as you can guess is the smaller one.
2003:::
October:
24th- Both ate a worm
26th- Female ate a worm
27th- Female ate 2 worms
31st- Female has blue eyes
November:
4th- Male ate a worm
5th- Female shed and ate 2 worms, male ate 1 worm
8th- Male ate 2(1 was handfed to it), female ate 1 worm
10th- Each ate 1 worm
11th- Female ate 1 worm
12th- Each ate 1 worm
14th- Male ate 1 worm
15th- Female ate 1 worm
16th- Each ate 1 worm, male has blue eyes
18th- Male ate 1 worm
19th- Female ate 1 worm
22nd- Each ate 1 worm, male shed
23rd- Each ate 1 worm
24th- Male died
25th- Female ate 1
From December 6th, 2003 to March 5,2004 the female hibernated
March:
5th- Female ate 1 worm
12th- Female ate 1 worm
15th- Female ate 1 worm
24th- Female ate 1 worm
25th- Female ate 2 worms
29th- Female has blue eyes
April:
5th- Female shed
10th- Female ate 1 worm
11th- Female ate 2 worms
17th- Female ate 1 worm
