So...as I went to give my chams their evening silkworm snack, I see that my newest girl, Patty2 has given birth!

17 baby jackson - 5 still borns. Man...she didnt look THAT fat!!

LOL

So..off to the store I go cuz I gotz no flies!

haha! so you had no idea they were coming? Must be weird with live bearers - at least with eggs you've got some time to adjust and prepare as they incubate, but just dropping the little critters - wow! got pix??

When I got her 2 months ago, the breeder said she might be gravid but he wasnt sure. She had been exhibiting the signs of impending birth for the whole 2 months (she hardly ate...hardly moved...drank tons, etc). I figured she was either older than the breeder said or maybe just an extremely mellow Jackson.

Surprise! Nope....she was gravid. I have had 3 other clutches before and wasnt surprised with any but the first. This one was a huge surprise, especially with the number of babies. Some came out extra large and some kinda small. It is weird. I'll post pics as soon as I can take them (you did mean pics of the chams right? Not of me?)
