I'm going to Hawaii... (not off topic)

lisa_cristin May 22, 2004 06:27 AM

I am so excited. However, I am very worried about leaving my babies with my boyfriend. I am most concerned because he has a full time day job and there are no herp vets in our city. So if there were any serious problems he probably wouldn't be able to get them to a vet. I am only gone for 10 days, but still. He knows about this site and to come here if he has any problems. If havoc breaks out and he comes here for help please, please give him a hand. You have all been so helpful with me in the past. I already have a friends e-mail address who knows alot about leopard geckos. If anyone else would be comfortable giving me their e-mail address that would be awesome. If so you can e-mail me at lisa_cristin_callow@yahoo.com. I'm paranoid, I know. It's just if something goes very wrong I don't want him to wait for advice, or not be able to get advice at all.

Thanks again,
Lisa

are they adults or are they actually hatchlings. If they are adults then it shouldn't be to much of a problem. Just tell him to feed, change water, and clean and they should be fine.

They are 1-2 months old, not actual "babies" but close. Everything seems fine so far. I have had no real problems anyways.

Try to keep everything the same then. Make sure the temps stay the same, cage is cleaned, etc.

I have told him all of that, he knows. I even wrote him a care sheet. I'm just worrried should something bad happen for some reason.

I know how you feel, I just got 2 babies recently whom I gave to my girlfriend as a gift. She knows a ton about taking care of them, but since she doesn't spend much time on these forums and stuff like I do, she hasn't learned from other people's experiences like I have. We're both leaving for multiple trips this summer so I'm worried something could happen to them while we're gone at separate times, but hopefully they'll be fine. I think yours should be fine, as long as your boyfriend knows what he's doing. my e-mail is fadetolemons@aol.com. I'll watch out on the forums in case anything happens that I would be able to help with, but I'm sure everything will go fine. Have a fun time in Hawaii!

Yes, we decided to send back the one that seemed to have health problems, and we'll recieve a new one on tuesday. The albino is doing great, however, and is eating tons of crickets! I'm in the process of finishing up exams at school right now which is really hard when dealing with these leos, because i REALLY should be studying. But as soon as Friday's over, I'm going to start working on a new cage for my 3 big leos.
