$$PsYcHo$$ Jun 17, 2003 04:17 PM

he all! my leo, Shrekk, i s acting strange ever since i changed his sand yesterday night at about 7:00! i also changed the tank around. i changed from pink calcium sand to regular sand and changed his housing around! ever since he has spent 90% of his time on the cold side! and he normally is practically permanentally on the cold side! this morning he was even on his cold side cave! ON IT! it's the first time ive changed the sand or the housing around! why is he acting all strange?

thanx all!

If you moved his favorite hide from the warm side to the cool side, then that might be the reason why he is always on the cool side. The texture of the new substrate might be different and unusal to him. As long as he is going to the bathroom, eating, and drinking he is fine.

leopard geckos are creatures of habit. they know their cage and where everything is in it. If you change it around it could stress them and take them awile to get used to it. as long as he's still healthy you shouldn't be too worried. I have done this to mine a couple times. make sure not to change their decor around to often because it does stress them.
