Kit,
First of all, what is your setup for them like? Heat, humidity, etc. What did you offer them to eat? What do you mean by one has low energy? Some PTS are much more active than others. You problably need to go to the vet. If you have to, force feeding is a good way to get them better. I am unsure, but I think walkaboutcreek.com has some good food supplements for this purpose. I don't know if that is the right site, but I think it is something like that, so if I am wrong, someone who posts after me will correct my mistake. Josh

Hi Kit,

When attempting to 'force' feed, I wouldn't try the solid, chunky like foods. If you can, baby food is the way to go. I've found that peas or sweet potatoes is particuarly relished by my PTS when they are feeling a bit under the weather. Another thing is to make sure that the intake of liquids is happening because, more than anything else, keep your PTS well hydrated as sometimes this is the key to a speedy recovery. I have used pedialyte administered with a needleless syringe for this purpose & have had much success. I can't emphasize enough that a vet in this scenario is highly recommended but I understand your situation.

Best of luck to you & keep us posted,

Sherri

Kit - we need more info to help you.

Please let us know what the temperature is in the animals' enclosure during the day and at night. It would be helpful to know the temperatures in both the hottest spot and in the coolest spot in the cage.

Next, what types of lights are you using (flourescent, incandescent, etc) and how long are they on each day?

What are you using as a heat source?

What is the humidity in the cage?

What size is the cage? What is it made of (an aquarium, a wooden structure with screened sides, a cardboard box...)?

What do you have in the cage (branches, shelves, plants, soil, woodchips, newspaper)?

How big is the water bowl?

What are you offering for food?

Did the vet take a fecal sample and check for parasites?

Answer these questions and someone here may be able to offer you some advice.

Also - to the person who mentioned food supplements - are you thinking of Walkabout Farm? You can find them at herpnutrition.com.

When i bought my first PTS, Leonardo, he didnt eat for almost 15 days, too! I think this can be normal. Why dont you try to give yours POTHOS plant? Its PTS prefered food in the wild!If your PTS is WC probably is that what he is used to eat!

HEY Flavia...!

FELICIDADES...
GABRIEL
