Freedom Breeder rack questions

HerpHandler May 22, 2004 11:14 AM

I am looking into getting a Freedom Breeder rack setup for my BP's and I have 2 questions.

1. What size should I get that will be suitable for adults? I dont want to have to buy larger ones in the future. (there are two "large" types on their website freedombreeder.com"

2. Should I stick with the standard 3" heat panel, or spend the extra cash and get the 11" option.

If anyone has any other suggestions for me before I fork out that amount of cash, I would appriciate the feedback.

I see that this complete setup comes with a digital them control. Do you know what type they send with the setup?

Also is it possible to control each levels heat panel seperately if desired?

just saw your post on freedom breeder rack. Just wanted to let you know I am co-owner of a new reptile snake rack system. We currently have a patten for our rack and breed morph balls. The name of our company is true image reptiles. Web site, brochures, cards, etc... are all still in the works as of now so I apologize for not being able to show you any products. We will be up and running soon with our prototype rack system being shown to some breeders at the Daytona reptile show in August.
The reason I posted back to you is due to the fact that our rack system is designed to eliminate the very problem you asked about. We have made the first fully adjustable rack system that allows you to house small and large reptiles. Thats right, small and large tubs on the same level.
I understand if you cant wait, and freedom breeder makes a nice rack, but ours will allow you to buy a rack filled with small tubs and replace with larger tubs as needed without buying a completelly new rack!!!!!!

We use the "standard" large for most of our adult BP'S with the 3" heat tape. However we also maintain a ambient room temperature suitable for thermoregulation of the animal, if you are planning on maintaining a ambient room temperature the 3" will be fine.

Baby balls will get lost in these enclosures though what you should do is call and talk with Jesse @ Freedom Breeder and maybe get one rack with several different size levels for the growth rate of the snakes. They can be mixed and matched say maybe 4 levels of large 2 medium 1 or 2 small..

I absolutely love the Freedom Breeder racks and its all I use.
