Just wondering if anybody kept fish with their crocs when the croc was young. The fish I'm thinking of keeping would be about 8-10 inches, so almost as big as the croc... would the croc try to eat something bigger than itself?

If the fish is about the same size as the croc or gator, it should be fine...I only put fish in with my caiman for him to feed on, but my friend has a pond with 2 juvenile alligators (about 3 feet or so) and a juvenile smooth front...in the pond he also keeps 2 large cat fish. The alligators and caimen get along fine...but then again it's a rather large enclosure I don't know what would happen if they were more confined... If you have a large enclosure it should be fine,if space is limited I wouldn't recomend it...there's my 2 cents
So it would be unusual for a young croc to kill something it can only eat a part of?
Mr F.
You may want to question whether or not this may cause the juvenile undue stress. They can actually stress pretty badly with the most seemingly "harmless" things without showing any outward signs of stressing. If the fish is bigger than him he can feel threatened by it's presense.
