ok i changed my mind on the ball python cage it is now going to be split level.on the left there will be branches for the snakes to climb if they want i was thinking of puting the basking spot on the left. or should i out one on each level?any suggestions would be appreciated. the cage is 4feet tall 5feet long each level is 23" tall

I would definitely have basking areas up high (to help with the ambient temps) and another basking area (perhaps via a Kane Heat mat or something similar) towards the floor of the cage. Although some bp's will climb if given the opportunity, others prefer to live a more terrestrial existence so having bottom/floor heat will be very beneficial. Place both heat devicecs on the same end of the cage in order to create a thermal gradient that will allow the snake to choose both warm and cooler areas to hide (and incorporating tight hide areas throughout the cage will be critical with a habitat of this size).
