I am planning on purchasing a Ball Python for my 12 year old brother. Do you guys have any special advice? How long do they normally get?

I know you'd probably like it to be a surprize but really he should be involved. Let him read the care sheets to make sure he's willing to do all that's necessary. They aren't difficult snakes to care for... as long as you do everything correctly. It's when the husbandry isn't correct, that the problems can snowball.
