some genetic questions

coal Jun 17, 2003 04:41 PM

I have figured out that DH ghost x DH ghost produces super salmons, salmons, anerys, and ghosts, but in what percentages, and what will they be het for?

Here's a few more questions in case anyone feels like thinking...

DH snow x DH snow =

DH sunglow x DH sunglow =

(Are the first 3 questions all the same percentages like in corn snakes or is it different in boas?)

het albino x DH sunglow =

DH ghost x DH snow =

snow x sunglow =

het albino x het albino and anery (DH snow) =

I am trying to get more into Columbian boa breedings instead of locality red tails and corn snakes. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Nicole

DH ghost x Dh ghost 1/4 anery boas but 3/4 of the babies will be hypo thus 3/16 will be ghost but here is the catch 1/4 of the hypos will be codom so 1/16 will be a codominant ghost boa meaning breeding it to a anery will result in 100% ghost offspring since only 1/4 of the baies from the breeding are normal then 1/4 x 1/4 is 1/16 normal anery boas so out of 16 babies you get 1 dominant ghost 2 codominant ghosts 1 anery 3 dominant hypos 6 codominant hypos and 3 normal looking babies. but here is the kicker you cannot distinguish the dominant animals from the codominant animals visually so you sell the ghosts as 33% possible dominant ghost and the hypos as 33% possible dominant hypos all of the normal babies are 66% possible het for anery as well

would the hypos also be 66% het anery (DH ghost)?
