Pacific tree frog...

icedearthgoddess May 22, 2004 04:27 PM

I think I have found a couple of PTF, but I am not sure. They both have the famous line through the eye and are light tannish brown in color. There are about 1 1/2 inches or so. They have some blotching on darker brown on the back. Any suggestions for houseing. Right now tank in half and half. I gave them so meal works to eat but they haven't eaten yet. I'm sure they are still freaked thought. HAve only had them since this morning. (5-22) Anyway, any help would be appreciated

hey i also have a pacific treefrog, but i, too, cant find much info on them. currently i have them housed in a similar set-up as yours, but im prabably gonna switch to something more simple because they have a hard time locating their food. i read an article in reptiles magazine and they mentioned they keep their treefrogs, including PTFs, in simple enclosure with moist papertowel substrate, a water bowl, a potted plant(such as pothos)and branches. this setup is easy to clean and easy to change the water(in my current setup, the water is starting to stink and it would be a real hassle taking apart the tank and redoing eveything)
sorry if its long, but i hope it helps
