What is this?

My friend saw a snake in the Lake Tahoe area under a deer statue that was pink on the back, silver on the bellie, and had black stripes running down the sides from the back of the jaw. The face was pink, and marking free. It was a baby, probably around six inches long, and it was summer. Any thoughts on what this might be?

I believe you are talking about a Sharp-Tailed Snake, they are pretty common in ihe Sierra's. Heres a link to some photos of one:
