Do crested geckos need lighting?

Herp-Boy May 22, 2004 07:21 PM

I just bouht two crested geckos and they seem to be doing fine. I was wondering if they need uv lighting. I had heard that if you sprinkle their food with the tetra fauna calcium and D3 vitamin supplement that they wouldn't need the lighting. I currently dust their food twice a week. Also if you have any tips on breeding these guys it would be very useful. Thanks!!!

Cresties usually hide during the day and therefore they will not soak up the uv rays. I use crested gecko diet that i got at my local pet shop to supply the vitamins and nutrients my cresties(Soldier and Sandy) need. A red lamp is good to use for night time viewing when they are active.
