Unknown Little Snake

HerperHelmz May 22, 2004 08:00 PM

Hey all,

Ok, today while snake-hunting I came across a little DOR snake, gladly it wasn't a ringneck as I've been seeing alot of those DOR. But, I couldn't identify what kind of snake it was, it had been recently ran over, no bugs were picking at it, it was in good shape for a ID(good shape for something that got ran over). The snake was probably from 6 to 8 inches long, bluish-black but with a white belly, I have never heard of nor seen a snake like it here in Pittsburgh, PA. Anyone have any clue as to what it may be?
Michael

Maybe a melanistic northern brown snake?
