Couple herps from n. Michigan...(pics)

Found this juvenile Blanding's turtle a couple days ago crossing a busy hwy. Although a listed sps, I rescued it anyway, and took a couple pics before releasing...

Went for a short walk tonight on our property and found five Eastern garters, two red-belly snakes, and a gravid brown snake, mostly under tin. It was 49*F. This juvenile garter we call the orange phase. It has the orange color on the first three scale rows, all the way to the tail, and also the entire ventrum with no speckling...

No. It's not been a good month for them..too wet and cold. Maybe next month, if it dries out a little, we'll start seeing milks and massas. Actually I saw my first milk in January, when a student brought one in he found in his basement..LOL.
