Need help on picking a turtle out

Well my friends fish just died and i wanna buy her a turtle...What's a good turtle that doesnt get to big and is an all around cool turtle?? Any good web sites?

How big is the tank? Does your friend really want a turtle. There are many more expenses involved than just purchasing the turtle too. (basking area, adequate filtration, UVB light and heat lamp) to consider as well. It's really nice that you want to do something like this for your friend but it will end up being a rather expensive endeavor and this person needs to have a large enough fish tank to accomodate the turtle. (even for the smallest of species you would need a tank 30 gallons.

Just some things to consider before you make a purchase that may not work out the way you intended.

Try www.chelonia.org for more information on turtles in general. As already stated, turtles need a lot more accessories and care than fish, and NONE should live in anything smaller than a 30 gallon permanently.
