Lighting question

MacArthur May 23, 2004 08:49 AM

I have a set up ready but it gets up to 80F with the lights on during the day. they are just 25 watt "t" type bulbs. do cresties need light during the day??? without the lights on it would be pretty dark in the enclosure. also, i have a desk lamp that i could put on the table next to the enclosure to shine light in during the day. thanks for your help and opinions so far. YOU HAVE ALL BEEN A GREAT HELP!!!

Use flourescent lights. also are you measuring temps with a digital therm? because i used 15 watt el cheapo light bulbs and the temps got up to 100.

did you stick it to the glass or did you place it underneath the lamp? when it is under the lamp it reads higher because the actual heat is reaching it. Use flourescents though, wont heat up your cage to dangerous levels.
