This turtle was caught yesterday in an Illinois lake. I do have have a pic yet to post but thought I might be able to get some suggestions of possibilities to explore before I get the pic uploaded.
Here is a description:
1. 9' length
2. Male with LONG claws
3. Nearly black carapace
4. Nearly black skin
5. Nearly RECTANGULAR-shaped carapace!
6. Plastron is yellow and black like Red-Eared Sliders only with the black and yellow reversed.
7. Agressive. Bites my larger red-eared sliders on the legs, tail, and head nearly continuously. Had to remove him from the tank.
I would be most apreciative of any suggestions to check out. So far I have not been able to identify him on my own.
Will upload pic as soon as I have it.
Thanks,
Brad
