Soil in Hide Box???

Cassady May 23, 2004 03:26 PM

What do you put in your hide box, and do you put it on the hot side of your tank or the cool side? All of the care sheets recommend something different, from vermiculite to potting soil. What's best? I've read everything I can get my hands on, just looking for your preference. We have a new Gecko, Norbert. TIA~

I use vermiculite in mine and i put mine on the hot side because it keep it humid.

This is my first year of breeding, but I found that I like peat moss instead of soil since it makes locating the eggs easier.

I had a lay box with soil that it took forever to locate the eggs even though I knew she had laid them.

I keep the lay box on the warm side and make sure the peat moss is moist all the time.

Regards,

Terry

I do the same as Terry. I put hides on the cool and hot side too.

Water on the cool side and food on the cool side.
