Anoles for outside?

Raptorman May 23, 2004 04:35 PM

Hey all. I plan on building a pond/habitat and part of it is having anoles in it. I live in Southern California and the weather is always nice and hot. but some days it may slip to 60-70. Would this kill the anoles?

depends which species.
the Green Anole should be fine with that. They survive here in atlanta and durring the winter it gets below freezing.

I live here in South Florida where we have quite a mix of anoles from different regions. We sometimes get down in the 30s here in the winter and most survive, so 70 degrees is perfect for them. I think they will thrive. If you are looking to purchase some anoles in the future, I posted an add in the lizard classifieds of the different anole species I get down here in South Florida.

You can also view a description of these species in the link below.
Good luck with your Pond set-up
