what does strain mean?

Hi peoples! What does strain mean? Like in albino strain or something like that?

essentially its a type of albinism.. in leo's their are three types or "strains". bell,rainwater and tremper.... all of them are a form of albinism but all are not compatable. for instance if you breed two tremper together you will basically get tremper type or strain albinos, same with breeding two bells togethr or breeding two rainwaters together. however if you breed a rainwater and bell together,,, you wont get any albinos, you will get normal looking geckos (heterozygous for both types of albinism) same with any other pairing except animals of the same type or "strain"
