Question for KRZ...Jim Harrison

Where in KY are you located. I am in Clarksville TN and would love to come and see your place if possible. Also, I saw a show today on National Geographic (snake wranglers) about a man with a snake zoo in KY. He was in Costa Rica if I remember right searching for an island lacale of the fer-de-lance. Would this be you or an affiliate at the reptile zoo you work at. Thank you for your time, Todd

I visited Jim a couple years ago. He is a great guy and a good friend of mine. He is in Slade, Kentucky..... The trip in is beautiful. Be sure to stop at a little snake pit on your way to visit Jim (just outside of Slade). It's disgusting to say the least. Jim's palce (as is he) however is impressive......

The Kentucky Reptile Zoo is located in Slade KY next to the Natural Bridge State Resort Park and Red River Gorge. The Snake Wranglers program was filmed on St Lucia. We just returned from a 2nd trip last Sun. Collected DNA and venom samples from 5 Bothrops and 5 boas this trip.
The Snake Pit was laid to rest this year and will never open again. It was a pit of death that started in 1970's and killed hundreds of snakes a year through inhumane care.(NO water or food) I would like to say I helped close it but the state passed bag limits on native reptiles and that is what closed it.

Thank you for your reply. I assume you are open to the public. What are your hours of operations. I thought it was an extremely interesting program. Once again thank you and look forward to meeting you in the near future. Todd
