How many days after the prelay shed have your corns layed eggs this year? I know it can be up to 2 weeks but Im just curious about your experiences. Just waiting for my girl to drop her eggs. Thanks for playing.

8 days, 9 days, and 9 days for my three corn clutches (one had 6 good eggs and 6 slugs, and she laid 1 slug three days after the pre-lay shed before holding off on the rest for another 6 days)

My cal kings.... 9 days and 15 days

My last girl took 10 days, but it varies soooooo much, who knows. What I like to do, and this is up to you, is give her something warm and damp to hide in even before her shed. This, in my opinion, gets the nesting going, and helps with the shed. What I've been doing, since I'm an ice cream freak, is cutting a hole in the top of an empty 1 gallon ice cream container, filling it a fourth of the way up with damp vermiculite, and putting it on the warm side of her cage. Seems to do the trick.
