Cheri thought the "apple" might be Guava. It is not...
It is kind of an apple - it is Pomegranate "Punica granatum". Look at the pictures at the link below.
I have no idea if dragons can eat it - but you sure can.

Maybe not...!
But what is it then? A Guava? It doesn't look that to me, but on the other hand we don't have Guavas growing in Sweden so I have only seen them occationally in the store.

I am sure it is in the guava family, or related to the guava closely, there are about 20 types of guava with hybrids and then another dozen that are related.
My Grandparents owned a citrus grove here in Florida til grandpa passed away and I remember this fruit from it. Just not sure if it is a Supreme hybrid or one that is commonly called a rose apple or rose plum, depending on what area of the state you are in.
I wish I could remember all this stuff, as I do remember there was a cross between the guava and another citrus that was also the one they crossed to get navel oranges. The bottom on the plant makes me think it might be that as it is identical to the bottom appearance of the navel oranges. That one was either seedless on one large sterile seed as the others had multiple seeds and if I remember correctly, it can not be grown from a seed in the fruit, only from the crossing.
Bennett is sending me some and we will get it to a pro here to identify and will let everyone know.

they were shipped out priority mail so you should have it today or tomorrow. I think you are right with Rose Apple. Now my concern is the seeds may be poisonous? and one of my dogs loves to play with the fruit as it falls off the tree. she does not eat it, just plays with it.
