Need help with this one..

I recently ordered 100 prekilled/frozen mice for my monitors. I keep them in a small freezer that was somehow unplugged by accident without me knowing and when i found out the mice were all thawed. Any advice on whether to toss em or can i refreeze. Wouldnt want to pass on any bacteria from the mice to monitors.

Its actually more about you then the monitor. Monitors are born to eat nasty old dead things.

If the mice were cool or still cold, there should not be a problem. But if they were hot, they will fall apart when thawed. Again, the monitor won't care, but you may.

About bacteria, all mice, frozen, refrozen, etc, have bacteria. The real question is, does that mean the mice will have a harmfull type of bacteria. No it doesn't. Could it? yea, it could, but so could live mice or fresh nicely frozen mice.

Remember, a healthy monitor can and do consume all kinds of nasty horrible rotting crap, without a problem. The key word here is "healthy". Also, another key is, proper temps. With proper temps they can digest a tank(not really, but seems like it)

Again Monitors, thrive around dumps and garbage tips. They consume and thrive off of human garbage. Which is most likely the worse kind. The question, is your monitor up to it. Good luck FR

Basically i've been keeping my monitors very healthy following some the advice, tips, and experience i've borrowed from you and others and it has so far appeared to be paying off, so as for the mice i won't worry about it so much. Although i will continue to monitor them daily and keep notes of activities, eating habits, water consumption, basking frequencies etc. I appreciate your speady response, this as well as others in the past. Thanks man

How on earth do you keep track of water comsumption?????

Please be careful about the notes deal. Always remember the old, "horse and cart" saying. Don't allow the cart to get in front of the horse. Also remember, its a people thing to think that exact notes are a good thing. Monitors are not people and may not think that is so important.

Monitors require a range of conditions to achieve life events, each event may require a different set(part of the range) of conditions to be completed.

Remember the notes from a monitor that grew one inch a year, would be very different then one that grew one inch a month. Yet, both are normal and successful, just to a different degree, which is normal. Good luck and happy note taking. FR

But i too know that the notes i take may or may not have relevance but at the same time when i look back on them a few years or so down the road there may or may not be something to be learned. For i may or should i say i will make some mistakes or mistake something my monitors are trying to tell me to mean something totally different than what is actual so its just my way of hopefully capturing something i may of mistaken through my actual observations.

PS I learned along time ago that words are never the THING thats being described.
