more rinkled eggs

spangles May 24, 2004 09:20 AM

this morning more of her eggs were rinkled...i too the lid off of the container i'm keeping them in and put the heat lamp directly over it to reduce the moisture (the temp started at 80 and is now at 84, i'll take the heat back off if it rises above 85). i hope this is the right thing to do! has anyone else ever had this problem? will the eggs be alright??

If the eggs are sinking in they need MORE moisture. Dont put any directly on the eggs though. What kind of setup and incubation medium are you using? If you can post a picture maybe someone with more experience can tell you more.

Yeah, dimpling or wrinkling means you are drying them out. You want more moisture and a good substrate to keep moisture in is vermiculite (my fav). But as long as they aren't changing any bad colors you should be able to plump the eggs back up with more moisture.
