Ghost balls

bigdee May 24, 2004 01:53 PM

is the ghost line of balls doing good? what is the price range on ghost, I thought the cheapest way into ball morphs was albino hets but I see ghost het pair for half of what albino hets go for

Ghost Balls are less expensive than albinos, and so are the hets (usually). I think NERD'S orange ghosts are the best looking, but for the price of 1.1 100% hets at 1300.00, why not just buy a male orange ghost for $800-$1000 and produce a bunch of hets in a year or two?

Just an opinion,
Chad

I forgot about the citrus ghost Balls that are even better than the orange ghosts. They were proven out by Gulf coast.

This is my Bell line hypo for instance. I think there are NERD oranges, citrus, Bell's, and desert ghosts..probably more. If anyone knows which lines are compatible with each other, I'd like to know.

I have a Yellow Hypo Male from Bells line No female..

I would like to know which lines are compatible also!!

Yes Ghost/Hypo (it actually should really be just hypo) balls are pretty cheap right now, but I see their value either staying the same or even getting more valuable. We're seeing more and more hypo combinations surface, and I think that will keep the hypos in high-demand. If you've seen the hypo pastels, spiders, and mojaves, you KNOW what I mean! Good luck.

I've been watching the price of ghosts for some time.

Back in 2001 I was hoping that I might get one for $500 (based on the 2000 price and seeing a lot of them around). I did have a chance to buy an unproven 1,000 gram screemer female for $800 and should have done it. NERD started hatching the combos later in 2001 and that girl I passed on produced 4.4 (she proved compatible with cb lines) in 2002 and they sold for $1,200 each.

So, it seems to me that the price of ghosts took a big jump up in 2001 and have held steady or even increased slightly since then. Maybe they are finally due to start coming down again this year (seen a few hints). There ought to be a ton of them buy now but they do seem to combine so well with about everything else.

MAN! Your male is awesome! Excellent color and I can actually see that it is a hypo unlike many "ghosts" in the classifieds. You should get some really nice babies from those two, good luck!

Alot of hypos look more hypoish as babies, and yes I agree they are sweet. Some of the best hypo adults I've seen were from the Bell's.
