Acrylic sealant

daveman May 24, 2004 05:24 PM

Hi. I'm working on a new cage for my tokays. I've designed a nice slow, small water fall in it that has a nice filtration system in it. The fake rock wall I'm making is sealed with acrylic. Now with water running over this for just a couple hours per day, can this sealant eventually get into the water? Its not to late for me to scrap the waterfall design, but this is the only thing making me think twice about it.

Thanks!

The one to use is the aquarium sealant - it is silicon without mold inhibitors. When fully cured (at least 24 hours after application), silicon sealant is harmless. BTW, it is used in every glass fish tank you see.
