Question about morphs

kane65 May 24, 2004 06:37 PM

Aren't all expensive morphs just about guaranteed to drop significantly in value? I mean, you buy something special for 20k. Several others do the same. You may make your money and then some but soon they'll be lots of people breeding the same so they won't be worth as much. I hear people talk about buying them to collect? Seems like unless you are breeding them you are wasting money.

So if you spend a lot of money on your car and you like it alot does that mean that you "wasted" money on your car for what you wanted it to look like? For me I'd say yes because I'm not big into cars. Some people can afford the more expensive ones to collect...although most breed anyway. They balls have such small clutches it keeps the value up unlike burms and retics who have 50-60 babies at a time. Even if a bunch of people start buying them...not everyones got 20k to spend on a snake so they prices won't drop so quickly. That in turn keeps the prices up and as prices gradually lower, more people are able to afford them making them cheaper...but it usually doesn't cause a spike in cost. Just what I've noticed....

they are a good investment snake for now. How many people here would keep 100, 200, or 500 Balls if they couldn't make $$ off them "NONE OF THEM". Most large breeders would not even keep & breed 1 pair if there wasn't any morphs out there to make $$ off of. I don't see it as a bad thing, cuz most of the people who spend the $$ are making sure their animals are well taken care of, and that is the important thing.

Just some thoughts,
Chad
