Rachel,
If neither snake was carrying genes for other traits than you would get all normal babies (100% het anery).

i currently have a male anery and i'm trying to decide what kind of female to get. if i get a female that's not an anery, will all of the babies be normal het for something, or will i get different babies, depending on the kind of female?

Not necessarily. IF you get a female of any genetic variety, it could be carrying the genes for anery. Therefore, the female does not need to be an anery to produce anery babies, but you would need to purchase a female from someone reputable and honest enough to tell you what a female corn is 'het' for. However, if you breed any other female to that male, the genes would not be visible in the first generation offspring unless your male anery is carrying other genes which you don't know about.

Try the corn program in my below post and you will quickly see how recessive genes work.
