NEED HATCHLING HELP!

gerri May 24, 2004 06:46 PM

I have a 10 day old hatchling. He will not eat anything I offer to him - little mealworms, canned dog food, lettuce etc.
I know he is drinking only because I place him in his water dish everyday and make sure he drinks. He is never walking around his tank - he just buries himself and you never see him. Can someone who knows about hatchlings please let me know if this is normal or not? And at what point do I worry about him not eating.
Thank you,
Gerri

I is very common for the babies to not eat for a while, just keep trying until he eats. Also, try wax worms, I have had luck with those for fussy reptiles. And stick with live food, andthing that moves, and will fit in his mouth!
