What is the best source for heat?

Under Tank Heater
Ceramic Heat Emitter
Basking Lamp
Infared Bulbs

Under tank heat is my favorite.It's alot cheaper than going thru 5-10 bulbs a year per light fixture.I do use lights on my boa's for supplemental heat during the cold months.

I use human heating pads for most of my snake's surface heat source, combined with a space heater in my herp room. I get the heatpads from Walmart and I've been using them for 10 years and they've worked great despite only 3 settings. Be careful though since some have an auto shutoff feature that you do not want.
Whatever you go with, you might want to get a temp gun too so that you can monitor temps and experiment with heat source location and settings.

Many people use some combination to address both surface temps and ambient temps BUT use your best judgement and don't overdo it at first since too much heat can do alot more harm than not enough.

I just use room temps. I do have a heater for when it gets cold and AC if it gets too hot. I just let my snake room get to whatever it is outside. Works fine.
