I have never really had great luck with them. I had 2 adult males years ago that really did well and became tame to the point that they would come and grab a cricket out of my hand. Everytime I try to raise babies I do not do that well with them. I think it is usually a case where I have too much and they do not get the attention they need as babies. That is why I sent the ones I had back to John Castellanos since he does well with them. If you remember I lost the adult pair I had in hibernation 2 winters ago. I think I need to stick with chuckwallas.

appearance, as far as body type. But are so very colorful!

Yeah I got ya on the sticking with chucks, LOL.

Ya know I'm so impressed with BOTH my chucks as far as temperment, and personality. Funny when Chewy was very small I tried every day picking him up, and he never liked it.

Then as he grew, he became so nice, and Tame.

NOW, actually follows me in that room. Grebster is now very friendly too, I think he just watched Chewy, and seemed to trust me.

Anyway, They are alot cooler than I ever firgured. I certainly would not mind another chuck in the family.

Think I like the redtails alot. Love that BLACK and orange contrast!

when fist seeing thes guys I thought the same thing. But really they are more like a cross between a collared and a sceloperus. You would probably do well with them as you do with everything. I think you should get a pair. These guys really need to get bred and they will probably go to someone that will not breed them. A friend of mine, Lou Hamby purchased 1.2 of them but I believe he has more. You should have the money in the fall when you sell off all those baby collareds-----You are going to sell them right? haha! It is called lizard addiction economics-hehe! Tom

Yeah they are very nice and so colorful ! YES, I will sell baby collareds, hhehehehe !

I KEEP all my adults as pets! I sell offspring, unless there is a hold back awesome color or whatever. But no can't keep em all

I get quite attached to my older ones though, can't part with them. and WON'T

I may look into a pair Tom, Have to see how things go. My problem is running out of light sockets hahahahhahhaha !

Crazy life ! But sure is FUN!

How are your chucks? Those pretty BIG guys?

HEHEHE! The chucks are doing good. I am thinking the female hispidus might be gravid. She has been off feed for 3-4 days now so I hope she will lay. I have been fooled before though. As far as the varius I am hoping also but just don't know. These guys are tough. Tom

Wow, I really miss my petros. I just can't afford em anymore, and they are getting more expensive. Hello all, You guys probably don't remember me anymore, I use to frequent this forum alot. I've been real busy with my martial arts, training hard for a promotion. Still have my female chuckwalla(doing great). I lost my desert ig to my egyptian uro. I was forced to house them together while I replaced a light(powersun) that blew out. My egyptian uro tried to eat my desert ig. Thats right it ate it's tail off and crushed it's head. I was so disappointed, I had that ig for 6 years. My uro isn't that big, about the size of my chuck. I thought nothing would happen, boy was I wrong. Anyway, that is sort of an update. My female jeweled lacerta laid 14 eggs. They are doing good. I will be visiting more often now.
