PACMAN BITE?

slytherin May 25, 2004 04:10 PM

Hey pacman people,
I have always wanted to get a pac man & just never got around to it...I have noticed from threads below that they are not a very friendly frog which is ok. My question is how bad does a bite from a full grown pac man feel? I figured someone in here had to have been tagged by an adult. I have never been bitten by any herp so if you are going to relate it to something in terms of pain try something else other than herp bites.. thanks!

Hi there:

Imagine getting your finger slammed in a gypsum door. As with snakes, the most painful areas are the fold of skin between your thumb and pointer finger, and the edges of fingernails. Make sure that the frog is completely terra-firma. That is just about the only way it will let go. I have also delt with pyxie frogs and Budgett's frogs.

I would say it is not too bad. I have had an african bullfrog try to swallow two fingers, but if you don't struggle it isn't hard to get your fingers out. Just makes a few cuts. A little worse than a snake bite in full grown adult frogs, but when they are froglets the bite is very minimal.

Although the bite may hurt, Dont let this discourage you from getting one. It is very easy to make sure that you dont get bit. Just dont put your finger in front of its face and make sure you always know where your hand is in relation to the frog. These are great animals and fun pets.

Agreed. It is also fairly easy to train them to take food from tongs or forceps, so they don't just expect food every time you open up the lid.

I've got bitten a few times by my 3-4 inch pacman. There where only small scratches, almost like they where done by a needle. He didn't bite long, so it didn't hurt much.
