Prehistoric Pets?

babysdaddy85 Jun 17, 2003 08:51 PM

I was wondering what some of you think about them. Good quality snakes? I was going to get a normal BP from them, and just wanted some of your opinions first. Thanks.

Thank you very much. Does anyone know of some good breeders/pet stores that I could get a quality normal ball python from? All replies would be greatly appriciated, including ones suppoting prehistoric pets. (not that I dont believe the one that I have recieved, just wondering some of your other oppinions about the store)

I rarely post in matters like this but I have personal experience with Jay at Prehistoric Pets. I have spent thousands with them over the years and have built up a quality collection through Jay and his connections. I do agree that they should have called back with answers about the snake he was inquiring about, but I have seen how hectic it gets around there. Here is a picture of a snake I bought(ghost ball) and a snake I produced (carmel albino) from a pair of hets purchesed a couple of years ago.

I have never dealt with them, but just looking over their site and hearing from alot of other people they are in it for the money, and nothing but. But I don't have anything to back that up. I am also in the BP market, looking for a big and beautiful adult female normal. If you want to wait untill next year, buy from me! If not I say go look for the lil guys! Most big breeders don't even sell normals, some do, but it is just as easy to get one from the lil guys! (see I support us lil guys too people) LOL. I actually am buying 2.2 hatchlings that are from an unproven burgundy x normal, there were 9 in the clutch and there is only one left, a male, but if you like the buisy patterns, let me know, I can tell you the site. E-mail me for more info. I think the little breeders should get the credit for the normals, the big breeders get all the morphs! LOL, J/K, we can (and I will!) get the morphs too! Have a nice day!

I was recommended www.ballpython.com for normals by Ralph Davis, and emailed them about it. The snake keeper(www.ballpython.com) said he would have true c.b. normals(i asked for very pretty ones) for $100 when im buying in 2 months, not sure if he has them now.
The ones on www.prehistoricpets.com are farmed and imported i'm sure, it doesn't say on their site that they are, but lots of 50 bp's and larger this early makes me think that definitly. Cheap yes, but I would much rather pay the extra dollars for a c.b. instead of an import.
