how many of you guy;s and girls feed mealworms as main food ?
and what sort of growth rate do you get vs crix

I feed all mealies to my geckos including hatchlings. Growth rates seem pretty good. At 4 months all mine are over 28 grams. By 6 months 35 grams....By 8 months over 50 grams usually. Males seem to get there a bit faster than females..

over her in uk seems like most feed on crix,
this season i thought sod it and am feeding mealies to babies too, do you just throw a few in per day ??

Well I found these neat little glass bowls at Wal-Mart here for 3 for $.98 that are very smooth on the inside and the mealies can't climb. I make sure my babies can get into the bowl on at least one side to eat and I put quite a few mealies in there to make sure they keep moving...Everytime a mealworm touches something.. they move.. so if you make it unescapable to touch something.. you make them all move thereby attracting your leo easier. I put at least 20 in the small bowl at a time usually.. My juvies usually take about half that a day.. so about 10 every night. I change the mealies out daily.

I've used both with mealies being my preferred "main" food as they don't seem to waste as much (smaller stools).
