getting a gecko tomorrow...any opinions on what is best?

I'm getting a couple of gecko's tomorrow and wanted to know how you guys keep your gecks. I've got some experience with beardies and uros...I have read a couple of care sheets on geckos that lead me to believe that they aren't any where near the expense to keep that my other two are. No UV lighting? Just proper heat, smaller enclosures, and hides? What type of lighting would any of you suggest? They are going to be "regular" and albino gecks. They don't eat veggies? What about night lighting? I've heard that basking temps should range from 105-110 degrees (from PetsMart, please...no one go off!)...others have said differently. What's the correct one? Are geckos clean enough to use a specific area to "potty" in? What's the best set-up...care?

I recommend you read some gecko care sheets. There's a couple available through kingsnake there's a link at the top of the page. That sounds a little too high for basking temps. I'd recommend 85-95, but I may be a bit rusty so make sure by reading the care sheet. Um I just use a regular 60watt household bulb They do not require uv. I recommend a humid hide you can make one out of a butter tub or similar container and put moist substrate in it such as peat moss or moistened paper towels. This helps with shedding. They do use the same place to go to the bathroom. For substrate, go with paper towels or tiles. Or repti carpet if you prefer, just not sand as it can cause impaction. Hope that helps, anything else should be in one of the care sheet. Heres a pic of my 20 gallon tank if youd like to look at it and get some ideas

Wow, petsmart gave you some horrible info. Temps that high will cook your gecko. The perfect temp for the warm side is 85ºF but it can go up to 90. If you wanna learn all you can before you get the gecko, please Click Here and read up.
