A few questions if you have the time...

ZPD May 26, 2004 02:36 PM

1. Would you say that Retics are easier to breed than BCI?
2. Would you say that a Jampea retics' growth rate is faster than a BCI?
3. What are the key or primary differences in Retic husbandry as opposed to BCI. I have read up on this but would like to hear opinions and personal experiences or observations. Im aware of the size difference (duh), what im more concerned with is temp, humidity, and most importantly best housing for neos. Are plastic boxes better than glass aquariums w/ screen top etc...

Thanks very much...

-Never bred them although I would think they are about the same.
2. Would you say that a Jampea retics' growth rate is faster than a BCI?
-No for sure! I've had BCI 6ft in a year!

-Glass Aquariums suck for all reptiles. The Glass actually absorbs the heat so it's hard to get the heat to the herp as well as a decient ambient temperature. They love moist moss if given to them. They are two totally different species as you've read up you will know all the big differences. They will also soak if they have a large enough water bowl.

Thanks very much...

To answer your questions:

NO to all of the above, and screened aquariums make great target practice in the deserts on hot afternoons
