Will beardies eat themselves sick?

Cee4 May 26, 2004 06:59 PM

I have two and one of them is constantly begging for food. She eats anything I put in. thier bellies get sooo huge. I usually feed greens first then crickets and then a few mealies that are supposed to be for my leos but the beardies love them too..When is too much too much. She begs at the glass actually they both do but the one more then the other..She looks like she is going to explode.

How old are they? Usually, when they are younger than a year they have voracious appetites. My girl is 2 years old, and she doesn't gorge herself at all. I mean, probably if I kept feeding her crickets or superworms, she'd eat me out of house and home. But after they're an adult, you shouldn't feed them more than 15 crickets a week. They don't get as much exercise as a younger beardie to work off any more than that. I regularly keep greens, veggies, and fruits in there up and until about 2 hours before lights out.

Hope this helps,
Dylacat
