Need help my geckos tail is half off

Ok today i was looking at my gecko and she had some strange behavior she was licking right at the base of her tail on the underside so i get down and look and her tail is half off i dont know why she would have done this but the tail is half way off and i dont know what to do could you guys give me some help?

Put her on a paper towels housed by herself and keep it very clean. You could put some polysporin on it if you want, but you might not want to freak her out more. Just watch it in case it shows any signs of infection.
I don't know if she will drop it completly, I guess you will have to wait and see, maybe it will heal.

If she is housed with another leopard that may have been how it happened, if not I guess you will never really know.

Perhaps it could have resulted from a fall? I know my geckos get involved in some crazy acrobatics when just running around their cage.

still attached? is it hanging on by the skin or does it have some "meat" which is still holding it on?

it should heal then. i had a similar situation happen. it did take a very long time to heal, but it did heal. i personally would watch it very closely and maybe put a little neosporine on it every 3 days or so with a q-tip until it looks like the leo is doing a good job of keeping it clean and there is no sign of infection. putting neosporine on it for the first couple weeks or so will give it a very good start on healing. don't try to push it in or anything like that. just jently place it over the wound.
