Took some pictures while I was cleaning cages. Had the nile in the tub until I got done. Thought you all might enjoy seeing them.

You seem to be one of the guys on here who houses many of the large monitors. Since you have so many, I was wondering how all of their temperments are since you dont have time to handle them. Maybe I'm wrong but thats how I would think it is with having so many, but are they aggresive towards you?

JPsShadow May 26, 2004 10:42 PM

hmmmmm well I do handle them but not much. My goal is not to make them into lap lizards.

I let them be themselves, some are Ok, some are good, some are nasty, some are very nasty.

is that the same nile in all 3 pics and if so iws he always that calm?

JPsShadow May 27, 2004 11:24 AM

Yes it is the same nile in each picture, she is not tame.

what you didn't take from the picture was me having gloves on from the nails being dug into my flesh. The head snapping back to bite me so her head is restrained.

The tail tucked in under my arm to prevent whipping.

With experience you can manipulate even the nasty ones, when your also a bit crazy (like me) you don't care and hold them anyways. haha

how long you been working with monitors?
do you only work with niles or others also?

JPsShadow May 27, 2004 07:55 PM

I have owned monitors since I was 9. In that time I have also worked with other animals and reptiles.

I have more then just niles right now, other monitors, as well as pythons, boas and lizards.

Hey man watch out, I see a tail whip mark close to the family jewels, ewwwwwwww, ouch . As calm as you look in that pic I know what a fight it can be to get that girl to pose, at least you're not flexing your forearms in vain, hahahahhahaaha. Nothing better than watching her walk around your house, tongue flicking everything and playing "who's the boss?", beats national geographic to hell!!!!!!

JPsShadow May 27, 2004 11:04 PM

I am sure you'll enjoy her even though she shows tough love. haha

Better borrow janets steel nip cover next time hahahaha

Lmao and oh yea she's keeping me busy. I can't stop ..... etc., etc.

Think next time I'm gonna go with the knight sheild jewelry that way I won't end up with a fourth nipple haaaaaaaaheeeeeeeeeeee000000. Damn she packs a snap.

She's awesome and that much more!
